Bohol Cabilao Fun Diving Tour: A Challenging yet Memorable Day
A dedicated team of fun divers recently joined Passion Dive for a scheduled excursion to Cabilao Island, Bohol. Based in Mactan Island, Cebu, our Cabilao tour involves departing early via a traditional bangka boat, heading directly to the island, and returning the same day.
We are currently en route from Passion Dive to Cabilao Island. The journey typically takes about an hour to an hour and a half. One of the unique charms of this fun diving tour is the experience of cruising across the vast, open sea on a traditional boat.
While the sea was relatively calm when we departed Cebu, the conditions grew rougher as we approached Cabilao Island. Due to the weather, the journey took longer than usual, but we finally arrived at our destination.
And so, the Cabilao Fun Diving tour officially started. We explored breathtaking wall diving points where the depths seem bottomless, following the dramatic underwater topography.
A Taste of Home: Passion Dive’s Signature Lunch

Due to the rough sea conditions, the travel time between Mactan and Cabilao was significantly longer than anticipated. By the time we finished our scheduled dives and headed back, the sun had already set.
In Cebu, bangkas are generally restricted from operating after dark. Because of this rare delay, we were treated to a unique sight: the night skyline of Mactan. We even caught a fireworks display being set off from a nearby resort, a view we don’t usually see from the water.

Despite the challenges, it was a rewarding day of diving. The Bohol Cabilao tour is one of our most requested packages. Since it requires a certain number of logged dives, it is particularly well-suited for experienced fun diving teams.
We typically recommend a schedule where you warm up at dive sites near Mactan for a day or two before heading out to Cabilao.
